A new style of photography I’m seeing popping up, is everyday or “lifestyle” photography. It is a style where candid photos are the goal, that wont require perfect lighting, or perfect poses. So this week we worked on our everyday photo challenge, the challenge was to take a photo of everyday life. I wanted to see a glimpse of a moment in everyday life of my fellow photo folks.
I have to admit, this was the most time consuming for me. Which, actually, is the opposite of the challenge. See, I am a planner. I love to have my shots planned out as much as possible. So I was thinking of setting up a few things to make for an interesting photo. Here is my mistake. The goal is to have a photo that isn’t planned.
I then started to look at what I wanted to show. Something that happens everyday, or a moment I want to share. My favorite part of my day is coming home after work. Not because I am done with the day job, but because I get to hang out with my awesome husband. This guy is my favorite part of the day.
I get to come home to my apartment with my better half and enjoy our evening. Of my favorite part of my day, is a favorite moment of my day. Being in the same room with my husband while we are winding down for bed, usually he is reading and I’m cruising Pinterest. This is my view of him while he reads, listens to music, or chat with me. A perfect shot I didn’t plan on for my everyday photo challenge. I can’t wait to see what you all came up with!
